Formatting and Clean Install of Windows 7


Taking a look at how to format and then clean install Windows 7. This should only be viewed as a guide to how to do a clean install of windows 7 and not as a guide to upgrading your system. Please make sure you back-up your important data before you format your computer!

  4. okk im on windows 7 32 bit, i fucked up because i wanted 64 bit and my laptop was always on 64 bit, i have the cd but can run setup because im running 32 bit and the setup disk is 64 bit, whenever i try and boot up with the cd it always asks for drivers what do i do can i disable this thanks !

    Formating means to clean the partition from the data stored on it, so you can later store new data. Deleting means to delete the partition

    Pleas.. can somebody tell me should i find the drivers by my self or does the Win7 automatic find you the driver’s ( sound , graphic and network ) ?

    @diypcrepairs Do i haveto format to boot from cd/dvd for a fresh format and reinstall of Windows 7? and do i have to reinstall all my video drivers aswell?

  17. i have tried both of my w7 cds.. i try this and i just get logged bk in. FFS!!!!!!!!!!!

    Without a copy of a Windows install DVD you don’t need to worry about not being able to boot from DVD, I’ll have a video up this weekend to show you how to change your computer to boot from CD/DVD.

    You should have some kind of recovery discs or copy of Windows with your laptop. There are many laptops now that require you to create your own recovery DVD’s.

  20. What do i have to do when i don’t have any recovery discs and when i restart my HP laptop, the “Press any key to boot from CD or DVD.” screen doesn’t show up?

  22. I have 4 recovery cd’s for windowa 7. My question is if i put cd #1 in to dvd rom, will it work? when to put cd 2, 3 & 4? pls…
