I personally think the hype of computer virii and all this virus scan protection crap is mostly fraudulent.
I mean I don’t download crap with P2P software, I only talk to friends on Yahoo Messanger, I usually only go to sites I’ve known and trust, and I play World of Warcraft.
Overall I want to know is a virus scan worthless overall than it is useful? I mean the only files my scan detects are a couple tracking cookies.
I have a new school loaned Dell laptop computer that now has a virus on it. I get repeated popups sayng that my computer is infected, plus pop ups saying that the computer is delelting Trojan attacks! I don’t have anything on it yet as far as any of my work. My son told me that the only thing I can do now is completely wipe the computer and then reinstall the drivers and necessary software which he said he can get from the internet and his friends. Is this what I should do?
