well he has a computer virus and geting live and hes connecting with an ethernet cable he is not using the same ethernet cable and the computer is not connected to the 360 in anyway only the internet cable is connected to the 360 will the virus transfer from the internet cable to the 360 or his 360 accounts even if they arent in contact?

Let me rephrase the question.
What I’m really asking is, can you get infected by a computer virus from having a connection to the Internet, but not visiting any websites.
For example, your modem/router, and your computer is on, but you don’t have a browser open, and you’re not doing anything that requires Internet connection.
Under these circumstances, is it still possible to become infected/attacked?
if it’s possible, how so?
