I have already done several virus scans using McAfee Virus Scan Plus. I have done a scan in safe mode. They all come back saying there is no virus. However, my computer is slow. I have gotten messages from McAfee saying that it encountered a problem and has to close several times. I have already checked my startup items (by going to run, msconfig) and unchecked most of the items on the list. I also checked my memory and it looks good. Does anyone have any suggestions? It seems to be slower at startup and when I shut it down. However, it is slow sometimes getting on the internet and going from one thing to the next. Also, if I go to ctrl+alt+delete, it says that there are anywhere between 40-60 processes going although the cpu usage seems to be low. System Idle process is generally at 99%. Help!

How do you know is a computer virus is real?
O.K so yesterday i was using the computer like usual when all of a sudden a page pops up saying i have a virus. I look at it closely and it didn’t say ONE virus but at least 20. I don’t believe it and i close it but at least every five minutes it kept popping up! So today i got on the computer and it still said i have a virus. It wouldn’t even let me open firefox! It kept closing! So i went on the guest account and everything seems fine! Why is it only MY account? Is it even a real virus?!
